Sfanta Papadie
A Childhood Easter Tale for Kids and Their Once-Kid Parents
Written by Aura Veres
This illustrated book is a playful and heartwarming journey into the Easter traditions in a small Romanian village — as seen through the curious eyes of children and the fond memories of their parents. Sfanta Papadie bridges generations: it’s a story that speaks to today’s kids (ages 6–9), while inviting grown-ups to revisit their own childhoods filled with rituals, muddy shoes, and the unmistakable smell of springtime.

✏️ Style & Concept
The illustrations are warm, playful, and a bit nostalgic — like old storybooks with a fresh, modern feel. I used soft textures, earthy colors, and expressive characters to show both the fun and the emotion in each scene.
The style is simple but full of life: funny faces, cozy village views, and little visual jokes that kids will laugh at and parents will smile at (because they’ve been there).
The concept behind the book is to connect kids and parents through story — to make children laugh and wonder, and to help grown-ups remember the joy, silliness, and beauty of their own childhood traditions.
Writing a children’s book?
Let’s turn it into something kids will read, crumple, and sleep with under their pillow.
